“Bridge to Terabithia” review : An Emotional and adventurous story.

This movie was adapted from the novel Bridge to Terabithia written by Katherine Paterson. Directed by Gábor Csupó , starring Josh Hutcherson, Anna Sophia Robb, Bailee Madison, Zooey Deschanel, and Robert Patrick.

This movie was about Jesse who is an 11-year-old boy who lives with his family which is struggling with financial conditions, he got bullied by classmates, and he had a younger sister with whom he was very close. He was a very innocent and sincere boy who understood the condition of his family. He was not close with his father, he always maintained distance. 

Later on, the lesselie who newly shifted in place, met Jesse in school and both have a very pure connection towards each other. They play after school in the jungle, form many dreamy stories and have adventures in life. In this movie, the eyes will be teary, the way it got portrayed and the emotions the way it got hit very hard, the realisation of emotions was very strong here.

In the scene where Jesse was very depressed because in school he got bullied and when she comes into the picture Jesse starts becoming happy, Leslie saves him from the bullies. He starts to live in adventure, he loves to draw. The storytelling of the adventurous story they formed is very dreamy, the way it became cartoonistic and came to life will give a viewer a dreamy trip.

The relationship between May Belle and Jesse is very cute and real at the same time. She was the biggest supporter of his brother. The sweet bond of friendship and trust in the movie was a very vibrant idea in this movie.

The scene where he has to wear her elder sister’s shoes and he tries to cover the pink laces with a black sketch pen was a very relatable and heart-touching scene.

The character of the lesselie is a very strong, confident, and dreamy girl, she has the guts to stop the bullies of the school. She was as strong as boys, she proved to them that she was equal. She was a very good storyteller, she lived with the stories.

This movie is not for just kids, of every age viewer will surely like this movie. Leslie and Jesse always race after school to play in the forest. Jesse started to live happily. They both make warriors to the dragonfly and intruders to the squirrels. They form a treehouse in the forest to play.

In the climax scene where it was raining and both were coming from the forest, he waved at Leslie and said see ya! It was the scene where a director shows his magic and makes a viewer question. When Jesse was in denial that she was no more, the sorrow didn’t hit him, A few days later it got hit and he ran to search for Lessellie and she didn’t come but in the end his father came to support him emotionally.Which was very heartbreaking to watch.

For me I would give it 9/10, this movie is for the viewer who likes adventurous and emotional movies. This movie is available on Netflix, and Prime video. Another blog you can read is about Jackpot! and Have fun.
