Jackpot! Not very surprising and funny.

The blog title is Jackpot! Not very surprising and funny that should be the name of this movie it suits properly for this movie . Story is based on the idea that in 2030, in California, the lottery ticket to win, the murder of the winner before sunset which is legally ok to win the multi-billion dollar jackpot. In the film The Awkwafina, John Cena and Simu Liu have the lead roles. The genre of this film is comedy and action.

The beginning of the movie shows the character introduction, Katie Kim who is a woman, that’s not surprising I know, she is not a very girly girl, a broken woman who did not have that much money, she had no one in his life, her mother is dead and she wants to see her daughter as an actor, so she came California, to be an actor. Later on, she accidentally applied for the grand lottery with her fingerprint she didn’t know about it and she won

All the people around her try to kill her and become a winner and Neol who is played by John Cena protects her and makes her win in this journey, they both become very good friends. In my opinion, the movie has both funny and action elements. In the beginning, I liked the way the film got started and introduced to a viewer is quite nice and funny. DJ and Shadi are both insane and mad people, to make them funny some cringe dialogues are also there.

There is a scene where Katie goes to give an audition and another fellow actress comes with a proper girly look and she says. “Great, they are rebooting Barbie”.Chasing the money and killing Katie Kim, there is a scene where to protect herself she throws Kim Kardashian’s wax statue’s face by pulling her hair. John Cena makes an entry here and I would say the way he says “You can’t see me” he was talking about his acting. It just feels like makers think let’s have a lead cast of Shang Chi and we will blend with John Cena’s action and make a Khichdi.

 In this movie makers focused on small things like forcing a child, being disrespectful to the mother, ignoring the mother’s love, and trust, and how people can kill anyone for money, and how greedy they become which is very dangerous for mankind.

The movie was very predictable and had very few twists and turns. In the middle of the movie, the chasing part felt very boring. It just kept going and going and it didn’t feel like a change. In the climax, Simu Liu makes an entry of the character. He is the owner of the lottery protection agency and he is the main villain here who tries to steal the lottery prize by fraud.

When Katie says “I do trust you, Noel, I think it’s because you look like a bulldog, that’s like a witch casting a spell on and turning into a human against his will”. I kinda agree with her. In the end, she wins and with the lottery price she says to Neol “I don’t wanna be an actor, I mean every wrestler and YouTuber is a movie star now”. I like the honesty here.

So in my opinion, if you are free in your home and don’t know what time passes you should see this movie for you, for me 5/10. It is available on Prime Video.Another movie you can watch is Encanto.
